Words I read in an inflight magazine while journeying to New Zealand .I am sure these words hold much truth .
To look at things is one thing but to really see and be spellbound with the beauty of the colour in a rusty bit of corrugated iron , the peeling layers of paint on an aging door ,the decay of intimate corners of an abandoned farmhouse , morning light casting it's golden hue and catching the edge of a tiny birds wing or as it is reflected in a dew drop as it clings ,pearl-like ,to a spider's web.
I have wanted no other occupation than to live the life of an artist since I was seven years of age .
I was shown the reproduction of a watercolour by a well known Australian artist .Something in my young mind clicked and my life's path was set
Painting and drawing to me are as important as breathing itself .
To be an instrument in the creative process and then to be able to share this Divine-given talent for another's pleasure and to help in raising awareness to the natural and man made wonders of this amazing planet that we all share , indeed gives me purpose .
Hopefully my love of my subjects comes through and you can enjoy the results of my endeavours .
