My main interest is large mammals, both predators and prey, either in a character study or in natural habitat, with an eye to creating emotional involvement from the viewer that will help preserve both the species and its habitat. My ultimate goal is to incorporate the animal into a painting that follows accepted art principles, including balance, negative vs positive elements, overall pleasing abstract design, etc. in order to have animals more fully included in the classic category of fine art.
