Stunning photographs and beautiful wood are the foundation and inspiration for my pyrography (wood burning). I am enthused by the fusion of heat on wooden surface and how tiny strokes of sepia tones on swirling grain and birds-eye slowly darken to become an integral and decorative part of each work of art. I strive to embody my passion for pyrography by portraying my subjects authentically, precisely and realistically through finely tuned detail. Maple is my wood of choice, as its inherent hardness yields photorealistic detail that is my trademark. Experimenting with various burning instruments challenges me as I seek to achieve desired results. My sincerest wish is to move and inspire others through my art.
