Janet Marshall I have been painting birds since 1970, when I was commissioned to do the illustrations for a set of 3 field guides to NZ birds.
I have painted birds ever since. I paint in a realist style, sometimes with highly decorated boarders. I work in gouache, water colour, acrylic, ink and wash and pencil.
It might be noted that the names on the images are not on the originals and do not appear on any prints.
My latest website is KIDS FOR BIRDS, an interactive site designed for children on New Zealand birds. The site has many of my pictures of NZ birds, information on NZ birds, an Art Gallery and All about birds pages where pictures and games can be downloaded to colour and play, News, and links to other sites of interest. The picture above is of the New Zealand alpine parrot, the Kea, raiding a party table.
