I chose Mauritius as a travel destination because it's habitat and endemic species are very special and fragile. They make a good subject for a conservation project. My main interest goes to parrot species. The Mauritian Echo Parakeet was almost extinct not so long ago. This small parrot species will be my main focus. The World Parrot Trust (WPT) initiated a project for the Echo Parakeet and it is my intention to support this project with funding that results from the flag expedition.
