David BrassThere is magic, mystery and adventure within every stone a sculptor turns in their hands. The permanence of stone and its ability to endure, is a gift back to the artist for having succeeded in bringing beauty to an unforgiving medium.
My sculpture is born from life experiences, adventures and personal insights. I express myself through the interrelationships between fluid lines and shapes, focusing on the markings, textures and colors that occur naturally in stone. Each individual stone, whether marble, sandstone or alabaster, offers challenges throughout the entire creative process.
