Formed in 1923, Forest & Bird has about 40,000 members in 50 branches that work on a variety of conservation activities, from re-forestation to lobbying, bird monitoring to weed-busting.

Originally established to protect our native forests and birds, their role has been extended in recent years to include protection of all native species and wild places – on land and in our oceans, lakes and rivers.

Although the issues Forest & Bird has tackled have broadened over time, the same motivation - to protect New Zealand's native flora,  fauna, habitats and natural scenic values – is still central to Forest & Bird today.

Art for Conservation^TM Commitment Goal:

Royal Forest and Bird Protection Society of New Zealand has been indicated by AFC members as a potential recipient of donations by participating artists. AFC's Art for Conservation^TM program, provides a forum to promote artwork that benefits recognized conservation organizations such as Royal Forest and Bird Protection Society of New Zealand.

AFC members have voluntarily and independently earmarked a portion of the proceeds from the sale of their artwork to Royal Forest and Bird Protection Society of New Zealand. AFC's Art for Conservation^TM program provides a forum to help promote artwork for sale that includes such a commitment. Each artists's commitment is contingent on the sale of their work and the above estimate is a potential total based on the completion of sale of any original work and/or limited editions. The AFC is not involved in any way with artwork sales transactions, nor does it make any guarantees relating to artist commitments. The AFC takes no commission whatsoever from the sale of artwork under the Art for Conservation^TM program, unless explicitly indicated.
