Wild Bird Rescue |
|
|
Wild Bird Rescue, Inc. works diligently to provide the community with humane solutions to wild bird problems. Their volunteers rescue sick, injured and orphaned birds, rehabilitate them, and then release the birds back into their natural habitats. They accept sick, injured and orphaned wild birds from the Humane Society, Animal Control, Texas Parks and Wildlife, veterinarians and the public. While this is an important mission, WBR soon reached the conclusion that there was also a great need to educate the public about birds and about issues that impact wild birds. Many of the birds received from well-meaning people don't need to be brought in; others are injured due to the actions of people. Therefore, Wild Bird Rescue, Inc. also provides free classes and information to the public on wild bird care and stewardship. WBR also wants to provide information to the public about how to humanely and safely deal with the occasional conflicts between people and birds. This is an area WBR is researching to find effective, safe solutions for birds, people and the environment. |
