For me, painting is a journey of discovery. An attempt to capture the magificent beauty of God's handiwork, and although I may only come close to that ideal, it is satisfying to approach the mark.

I don't feel art should be social comment that would not contribute to the quality of life. However, public concern regarding the environment and conservation matters engenders support for nature and wildlife art -- and artists, by their efforts, can enhance conservationists' causes. It has been said that we do not love art until we love more what art mirrors.


My art arises from appreciation of the world that surrounds me -- fields, forest, mountains and the myriad life which abides therein. I pray that it will evoke a similar response in the hearts and minds of my collectors. Conservation has become a vital issue and art which reflects the beauty of nature can advance the cause. When I document my love of God's handiwork, I contribute to that end and the work will endure. ENJOY.
