Zoo studio I work in the Graphics Studio at Bristol Zoo Gardens, my desk in one corner getting full advantage of two windows either side of the desk. I also have a computer (Mac) which I use to scan in my illustrations and reproduce the identification signs onto which the illustrations go. I am here three days a week for 9 months of each year. Earlier this year we moved into a new studio at the zoo when the building we work in was extended and revamped. The new studio is the same size but much lighter with more windows around three outside walls instead of two and a couple of skylights. This photo was taken not long after we moved in.. plants have since been added in the windows and corners to make it more 'homey'.

New studio This is part of the studio space I have been renting since June 2014. It is a small space 14' x 8' but this is much bigger than what I have been used to for the past 30 years or so working at home. It is a shared building with other creative people so I have also had to get used to much more noise around me when I work. I love having a separate space for all my art stuff where it is all together in one place and not packed away in many different places in the limited available space in the house.

Home studio Sadly, I do not have a big enough house for a separate studio, so I used set up my easel by the window in a bedroom when I work. This is the only window in the house with good light all day and all year round, but as the bedroom is in use, my studio was a temporary one - being set up and dismantled each time I worked. Since June 2014 I have been renting a studio space near to where I live.

Artist in Residence This is the artist's studio I work in during my week long residencies (all but one year between 2000 - 2015) at the Nature in Art Museum and Art Gallery in Glos, UK.

In camp This is where I painted during my month long stay in the Okavango Delta, on the deck of my lovely luxury tent. From here I had views out to the floodplain across a lagoon that was right in front of my tent. I did a number of plein air pieces of the landscape from here and sketches the birds that frequented the lagoon. Happy days.
