Putting both the 'wild' and the 'life' back into animal art

Steve Morvell Wildlife Art Gallery and Studio
.....and this is where it all happens with an ever-changing display of newest artworks.

The studio can often be unique

University of Ballarat Ecobus
A job such as this requires a special kind of studio setup and in this case a huge shed with gas heating was found. But even then how do you stop the Enamel paint running down when you cant tilt the bus on its side?....... Oddly enough this sort of challenge seems to inspire Steve to new heights.

Sketching onsite at a wild Australian sealion colony.
Sometimes the artist has no option but to move his studio into the home environment of his subjects. Often this means backpacking into wilderness areas, camping out and living very rough for days on end in a two man tent. Steve insists that the outdoor studio is really the place where it all starts ..... and indeed counts these genuine field experiences as precious in the sense that they bring true authority and understanding to any subsequent artwork.
