Stuart Arnett and the Philippine Eagle Foundation form a Partnership to help save the Endangered Eagle.
The Philippine Eagle (Pithecophaga jefferyi) is considered one of the largest and most powerful eagles in the world. Unfortunately, it is also one of the world's rarest and is critically endangered. The PEF ( www.philippineeagle.org ) operates the Philippine Eagle Center in Davao City and is home to 32 Philippine eagles, 16 of which are captive-bred.
The Philippine Eagle Foundation firmly believes that the fate of the vanishing Philippine Eagle, the health of our environment, and the quality of Philippine life are inextricably linked. The PEF is committed to promote the survival of the Philippine Eagle, the biodiversity it represents, and the sustainable use of our forest resources for future generations to enjoy.
The Partnership signed on April 1, 2008 will allow the PEF to sell art specifically designed for their Mission, and receive 40 % of all proceeds. Dennis J.I. Salvador, Executive Director of the PEF stated "It's very noble of you and very heartwarming to come across people who are willing to put their talents to help a critically endangered species."
Artist Stuart Arnett has also pledged to donate 40 % of Philippine Eagle art sold internationally to the PEF in further support of their remarkable work. Watch for future works depicting this magnificent eagle.
