The club, founded in 1871, is one of the oldest arts organizations in the US and is housed in a beautiful brownstone building. It has a wonderful gallery space and hosts many shows during the course of the year. The name "Salmagundi" was inspired by Washington Irving's use of the word meaning a stew of many different ingredients.
