Terry WoodallAFC Interpretive and Abstract Wood Sculpture
Proceeds from sales of the salmon art will go to the Sandy River Basin Watershed Council to support their community education programs and river restoration work. The Terry Woodall renditions include "Myrtlewood Migration" which is a mosaic of 5" carved myrtlewood salmon flowing across the bulk of the 5' long model. Terry carved 73 individual multi-grained salmon for this application. "Myrtlewood Migration" was purchased by Portland General Eletric and is displayed in their World Trade Center office. Terry's other commission is "Full Circle", a painted scene of the salmon spawning cycle, with the female "hen" fanning the streambed with her tail to lay the eggs, as the male "buck" releases fertilizing milt above her. The bright salmon eggs and the newly hatched "alevin" complete the scene.
