Parkinson awarded in Mendocino Art Center Marine Wildlife Show
Two of Linda's watercolor paintings were juried into the Mendocino Art Center's Marine Wildlife Show, one of a Green Sea Turtle, and one of an Immature Brown Pelican. The Immature Brown Pelican portrait went on to take Best of Show in watercolor. The model for this portrait was an oiled pelican that Linda cared for while volunteering for the Humboldt Wildife Care Center. He was quite friendly, and after being successfully cleaned and rehabilitated, seemed quite content to stay and be fed daily! He was eventually returned to the wild where he belongs.
