Following the immense popularity of her designs for a range of gift ware to celebrate the 20th Anniversary bear, Harrods has once again commissioned Pollyanna to paint this year's bear 'Alexander'.
This is the first time that any artist has been commissioned to design their signature Christmas range two years in a row. The project was again shrouded in secrecy, with the prototype bear being sent to Pollyanna to sketch back in January. She has designed a series of five images featuring Alexander and his friends. A wide range of products featuring the paintings is now arriving exclusively in Harrods in Knightsbridge including two designs of bone china mugs, tea towels, aprons, three different tote bags, purses, a gift box of 'Christmas Tea' and a range of Christmas decorations. More products will arrive in store before Christmas.
Although something of a departure from her usual subject matter, Pollyanna considers it a great honour to design for the world's most famous department store.
"I am much more used to painting live bears in their natural habitats" Pollyanna commented " but at least this one stayed still for me to sketch!"
