Pollyanna is pleased to have given her support to a campaign to encourage people living in the UKto sign up for the NHS Organ Donor Register. She is pictured here with five-year-old organ recipient Zack Roome at the launch.
The campaign's target is to encourage anyone willing to give their bodily organs in the vent of their death in order to give the gift of life to another person. 'I very much support the idea of a register' Pollyanna said at the launch ' Like many other people I signed up for a donor card many years ago, but I have since lost it. The idea of a database where you can sign up is an excellent one'.
Also at the campaign launch was Zack Roome, and his Mother Lucinda Gay. If Zack had not received a donor liver at the age of nine months h would have died within days. Now, although he sometimes becomes ill, he can go to school, and has just celebrated his fifth birthday.
If you would be willing to sign up to the register, you can do so online at www.uktransplant.org.uk where you can also find full information about organ donation, or you can telephone 0845 60 60 400
