Baby Rhino Rescue
Baby Rhino Rescue is a nonprofit run by members of a global crash committed to saving rhinos from extinction and especially saving baby rhino orphans. https://www.facebook.com/babyrhinorescue/

The founder Helena Kriel who was born in Johannesburg, South Africa is now residing in America. Her heart has always been with the African bush and its animals. After working with rhinos she founded Baby Rhino Rescue, an international organization dedicated to raising money for orphaned rhinos, and bringing an international awareness to the crisis the rhino now faces. The organization is inclusive, inviting people to be part of “The Crash” and working together to save rhinos from extinction. Baby Rhino Rescue was formed so that everyone could be part of the solution to a catastrophe.

Baby Rhino Rescue proudly fund the work of Petronel Niewoudt and Care for Wild Africa. Petronel developed Care for Wild Africa as a much-needed sanctuary for the care and rehabilitation of orphaned baby rhinos coming from the Kruger Park and surrounding farms.

Baby Rhino Rescue also sponsor the Rhino Pride Foundation founded by Dr Jana Pretorius. Dr Pretorius developed Care for Wild Africa as a much-needed sanctuary for the care and rehabilitation of orphaned baby rhinos coming from the Kruger Park and surrounding farms.

This year Baby Rhino Rescue introduced an annual International Rhino Art competition, where artists could also participate in crowdfunding for the foundation.

I entered two of my painting images which had already been donated to various auctions to raise funds for the conservation of endangered species. I recently found out that both my pieces received awards.
First place for 'Hand in hand we can' in the category of best environmental message. This piece was donated to Sketch For Survival, London UK.
Third place for 'Guardian Angels' in the category of best free form over 16 years.
The category of Best Environmental Message was judged by Garth Pullar, a South African photographer, artist and environmentalist. Garth said "I love it's simplicity, the world of Rhino's fate is in all our hands together."

It was such a pleasure to be able to participate in such a worthy cause. The art competition raised enough funds to adopt 6 baby rhino's.

Rhino are still being targeted very heavily and every effort needs to be made to save these animals from extinction. So many rhino babies are victims of wildlife crime and the number of orphaned animals is constantly on the rise.

The more people who join the crash the better chance the baby rhino have for survival. For further information: https://www.facebook.com/babyrhinorescue/
