Rediscovery of the Ivory Billed Woodpecker
Larry Chandler painting "Elusive Ivory" has been recognized and used by Cornell Lab of Ornithology in their recent press release in Washington and used on CNN, CBS and other networks, as well as appearing front page on almost all major newspapers around the world. Larry Chandler worked closely with Pro. Bobby Harrison (Oakwood College, Huntsville, AL) to design the painting from visual disciptions in flight, video, and some archieve photos of the 1930s. The painting is being published by the Arkansas Fish & Game Department and sell of the prints & stamps will help fund Cornell University's continual study and preservation of this truely magnificent bird.
