For the second year in a row, we have decided to give our portion of art auction proceeds, to anti-poaching efforts.
Without a doubt there are many organisations that are well worth funding, but of course it isn't possible to fund them all. So we had to make a decision as to where we thought a financial contribution was best directed.
This year, we have decided to again send our contribution to the Big Life Foundation.
Big Life has an enormous task at hand, covering approximately two million acres of bush in East Africa. The dedication and vigilance of their teams is paying off with over 1000 arrests so far.
Anti-poaching is not their only function as they are facilitating excellent community projects and a successful predator compensation project.
We were lucky enough to visit with some members of the Big Life team in March, 2015 in the Chyulu Hills of Kenya. Time well spent, learning more about their organisation and their goals.
