"Open Rambles into Sacred Realms whenever you need to connect with marrying human curiosity and attention with nature's beauty and mystery." ~ Sharon Salzberg, New York Times bestselling author of Lovingkindness and Real Happiness
AFC Signature member Krish V. Krishnan considers himself a global citizen, having lived in a dozen countries and visiting over sixty. Throughout his travels he has immersed himself in the cultures of each area, trying to comprehend the secrets and legends of each locale. As he has crisscrossed the globe for business and pleasure, places of divine power always intrigued him. From the mighty red rocks of Petra, Jordan, to the fury of the Hawaiian volcanoes, to the religious fervor of Varanasi, India, he has long been compelled to explore and portray such awe-inspiring divinity through writing and artwork.
His experiences, ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous, the prosaic to the frightening, the mundane to the enlightening, find their way into Rambles into Sacred Realms: Journeys in Pen and Paint which will be published by Shanti Arts Publishing in April 2015 (238 pages, 113 illustrations, softcover, ISBN: 978-1-941830-92-5, $48.00).
Each chapter includes an essay about a particular site and several pieces of his artwork executed in a variety of mediums including watercolor, scratchboard, acrylics, pencil, and pastel. Each piece of artwork is accompanied by a caption highlighting the essence of the moment that inspired the drawing.
Rambles into Sacred Realms offers an invitation to vicariously enjoy the adventure, drama, and humor illuminating the author's travels. It is an opportunity to experience through words and images the stunning power of these special sites. The author hopes this book will inspire readers to seek out their own places of awe and connection, near or far. Perhaps they too will look to capture their experiences using art, prose, photographs, poetry, or other forms of meaningful personal expression.
