AWARDS JUDGE for MPSGS |
|
LINDA ROSSIN - honored with the invitation to judge the 81st International Exhibition of Fine Art in Miniature by the Miniature Painters, Sculptors and Gravers Society of Washington DC for this year's awards.
This unique art form based on minute scale, traces its roots back to the book paintings and illuminated manuscripts set in the 7th century. A work of fine art in miniature is a particularly personal object that draws the viewer into a very intimate world. The MPSGS juried art show is one of the oldest and largest miniature events in the USA. Linda Rossin has been given the honor to judge this year's entries for awards.
“Judging any art show is an arduous process, but selecting a handful of award winners from 750+ exquisitely executed pieces is truly daunting. While examining each work I first looked at emotional impact, then honed in on composition, drawing ability, skill in handling the media, values, color theory, creativity, anatomy, perspective, and then overall presentation. Although many pieces displayed expertise in all, or most of the above criteria, there were those that went beyond and delivered even more.
"It was an honor and privilege to serve as the MPSGS awards judge for 2014. My congratulations to the award winners and all participating artists who made my job exceedingly difficult. Bravo!”
