Jeffrey showed 6 of his mystical paintings last year at the Nancy Wilson Scanlan Gallery in Austin, Texas. The show, Texas Mysticism, displayed paintings that had references to the land and culture of Texas and explored mystical themes. Jeffrey gave a gallery talk about his work and a full color catalogue of the show was produced. Brailas' narrative work is set in backgrounds based on remote natural settings where he has previously hiked and executed plein air paintings. He enjoys immersing himself in nature and studying the plant and animal life as well as the geology and effects of light in such regions as Big Bend National Park. His paintings have also been shown at the Amarillo Museum of Art and the Art Car Museum of Houston.
