In May 2005, Island Press will publish Tiger Bone & Rhino Horn: The Destruction of Wildlife for Traditional Chinese Medicine. It will be illustrated with many of my drawings, and numerous photographs. Tiger Bone is my sixteenth book, and the first where I have "come out of the water." (The book includes discussions of the use of sea horses and seals in traditional Chinese medicine, but by and large, the subjects are terrestrial mammals.)

My other books, all of which are still in print, are as follows:

The Book of Sharks (1975, paperback: 1980, 1986, etc.)
The Book of Whales (1980, paperback: 1986, etc.)
Dolphins and Porpoises (1982, paperback: 1986)
Great White Shark (written with John McCosker), 1991, paperback: 1995
* Men and Whales (1991, paperback: 1996)
* Monsters of the Sea (1994, paperback: 1996)
* Deep Atlantic (1996, paperback: 1998)
* Imagining Atlantis (1998, paperback: 2000)
* The Search for the Giant Squid (1998, paperback: 1999)
* Encyclopedia of the Sea (2000)
* Aquagenesis (2001, paperback 2002)
* Sea Dragons: Predators of Prehistoric Oceans (2003)
* The Empty Ocean (2003, paperback: 2004)
No Turning Back: The Life and Death of Animal Species (2004)
Tiger Bone and Rhino Horn (2005)

I have a limited number of copies of these books, which I would be happy to inscribe to the buyer. Those marked with an asterisk are available for $35.00 apiece. (Those without an asterisk are not available from me.) Some are paperbacks; others are hardcover first editions.

If you send me a prepaid mailer, there will be no charge for shipping; otherwise shipping and handling is $7.00 for the first book, and if more than one title is purchased, add $3.00 per book to the total.

If you are interested, please write me at richellis@nyc.rr.com for details.
