"Vida Livre" is the story of the endangered Red-tailed parrot of Brazil´s southern coast. Richly illustrated in cut-paper collage and watercolor, the book begins with a fantasy story of the life of this parrot, which then becomes the actual story of the biologist working to save this species and her team of the conservation organization SPVS, as illustrated in realistic watercolor paintings. 1,500 of the 3,000 printed copies will be distributed in schools along the southern coast of Brazil, at no cost, in an effort to raise awareness of this species and its needs, including habitat protection.
