Alison Nicholls Returns from Tanzanian Conservation Project
Alison Nicholls recently returned from a 2 week stay with the African People & Wildlife Fund (APW) conservation project, based near Tarangire National Park in the Maasai Steppe, northern Tanzania. Her visit was set to coincide with APW's 2nd 2011 Children's Summer Camp, in which local school children stay at the project for a week to learn about various environmental and conservation issues. Alison spent time sketching, creating an expedition journal, learning about the project and teaching drawing skills to children at the Summer Camp and in local primary schools. In early 2012 Alison will visit APW again, focusing her 2nd visit on the complex human-wildlife conflict issues in the area.
