Pollyanna Pickering launches International Childrens' Conservation writing Competition
Pollyanna’s first act in her new role as Global Ambassador for Wildlife Warriors is to launch a brand new International Writing Competition for Children. The winner will inspire a picture which will raise funds for a vital conservation project of their choice!

Entrants are invited to submit a story inspired by any of the animals or subjects helped by Wildlife Warrior’s conservation partners – snow leopards, cheetahs or any other wild cat – or North American wildlife or wilderness areas. Entries up to 1,000 words are invited from anywhere in the world in three age groups :

8 and under, 9 - 13, and 14 – 18

Winners and runners up in each age group will receive certificates, and a book and limited edition print signed by Pollyanna. One over all winner will then be chosen, and Pollyanna will create a painting of the animal subject of their story, inspired by their writing. This painting will then be published as a limited edition, and the winner will receive the number one print, signed by Pollyanna, in addition to their other prizes. The print will then be sold to raise funds for the winner’s chosen conservation partner. Their story will be published initially on Pollyanna’s web site, and by other media partners.

The stories must be the entrants own work, previously unpublished and submitted in English. Entry is free. Work can be either fiction or factual, and must be submitted before the closing date of 31st December 2011. Winners will be announced on the 30th January.

Entries can be submitted online this link: www.pollyannapickering.co.uk/enter.htm

Full terms and conditions, and information about the conservation partners can be found on the website.
Please encourage the children in your life to pick up their pens and write a story to save wildlife!
