Pollyanna Pickering and Eric Knowles Pick a Winner!
The winning ticket in the Pollyanna Pickering Foundation 2010 Winter Prize draw was drawn by antiques expert and television presenter Eric Knowles (above right with Pollyanna). The lucky winners, Mr and Mrs Griffiths of Derbyshire have won an original painting of a black cat.

As well as being a recognised expert in his chosen field, Eric Knowles is a well-known face in the world of antiques, particularly to viewers of the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow. On the programme he enjoys being able to astound people when the items they have brought for valuation turn out to be worth a huge amount of money – and he was equally pleased to provide the lucky winners of the prize draw with a wonderful surprise.

The prize draw still raised £971.00 which has been added to £100.00 raised by West Hallam Animal Charities at their evening with Pollyanna, meaning that the Foundation was able to donate £1100.00 to charity Cats in Need to purchase food and medical supplies for the cats in their care during the coming year.

Cats in Need aim to relieve the suffering and distress of cats and kittens who are in need of care, to provide a neutering service for cats who’s owners are unable to pay for such services, and to educate the public in the correct ways of caring for cats and kittens. The charity also maintains a feral cat group which is neutered and kept disease free, while a small group of cats who need special care are kept in a permanent foster home.
