2011 is marking a year for raptors, as the 2011 Audubon stamps will feature five birds of prey. This year's stamp sheetlet, (which is issued annually on April 26, the birth date of John James Audubon) will feature the Cooper's hawk in the center, surrounded by an American kestrel, Red-shouldered hawk, Red-tailed hawk, and Northern goshawk. Since 2009, Ray Easton has depicted 15 species of birds for these comemorative Audubon stamps. The image that accompanies this story shows the painting as a whole, before the perforations separate the birds into their respective "panes".
