Pollyanna Pickering opens new RSPCA centre |
 |
Pollyanna Pickering was pleased to cut the ribbon and officially open the new Royal Society for the Protection of Animals Sheffield shelter. She was invited to cut the ribbon at a ceremony at the £5.2 million centre in Sheffield, England.
The event marked the end of phase one of the project, which includes 80 kennels, 69 cat pens, an isolation block, clinic, visitor centre, inspectorate offices and accommodation. The first animals arrived in November.
RSPCA Sheffield branch chairman Kathryn Whitlam said: "We were thrilled to have Pollyanna lend her support on a landmark day."
Pollyanna said: "I was so pleased to be asked to take part in the official opening of such a fantastic and much-needed facility. The work that's gone into making Sheffield Animal Centre a reality for the people and animals of the city is amazing, and the end result something to be very proud of indeed."
Fundraising is continuing towards running costs and phase two of the project, including a bigger clinic, small animal block, education centre and warehousing. |
