Flag Expedition Paintings in commemorative magazine
Paintings completed by Pollyanna Pickering folowing her AFC flag expedition into Bhutan have been included in the special commemorative edition of The Bhutan Society's magazine, which celebrates the Coronation of their new King.
The special edition features a two page feature of the paintings which depict Bhutanese wildlife, including the Tiger's Nest (pictured). Pages from Pollyanna's expedition journal have also been included.
The magazine commemorates the coronation of His majesty Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck the Fifth Druk Gyalpo in a ceremony in the capital Thimphu. "I am honoured that the Bhuatn Society asked me to contribute to this special issue" Pollyanna commented "it is a wonderful opportunity to focus some attention on their incredible willdife of Bhutan at a time the people are celebrating a joyous occaion in their Kingdom".
Pollyanna's work also features in the current issue of Artist's and Illustrator's magazine (UK) which is a wildife art Special. In a four page interview she dicusses her love of painting wildlife, and the expeditions she undertakes to study endangered species in their natural habitat - and gives her advice on sketching out in the field!
