Dodge wins AFC Medal of Excellence Second Year in a Row
Each year the Artists for Conservation Foundation awards six AFC "Medals of Excellence" to artists for their artworks in the Annual Art of Conservation, an international exhibit of nature in art. Dodge's pastel painting, "Mischief Maker" was singled out for special recognition for the prestigious 2011 AFC Exhibition in Vancouver, B.C.

This year will be an exciting one for The Algonquin Art Centre because they are teaming up with the United Nations to celebrate 2011 as the International Year of Forests. Dodge has been represented by the Algonquin Art Centre for the past 6 years. Dodge Invited to be Guest Blogger on new AFC Blog.
The Artists for Conservation launched their official Blog in January 2011. This is the AFC’s latest initiative in spreading the word about the artistic movement that inspires individuals and organizations to preserve and sustain our natural heritage. The AFC units the talent and passion of the world’s most gifted nature artists. In addition to regular articles by AFC president Jeffrey Whiting, it will feature a series of articles by a range of guest bloggers, including Signature Member, Canadian artist Kelly Dodge.

Dodge to exhibit in Science Art-Nature
Canadian Artist Kelly Dodge will exhibit in an online Science Art-Nature exhibit that is scheduled to go live February 13, 2011. Science Art-Nature is producing “Bringing Symposia to Life”, an independent virtual Science Art exhibition that is linked to symposia presented at the 2011 Annual Meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).

In 2008 Master Artist and Environmentalist Robert Bateman had an unprecedented solo showing of his work at the McMichael Gallery in Klineburg, Ontario, Canada.... ...... at this time he invited Dodge to attend a 5 day master artists seminar he was giving on Cortes Island, B.C. Dodge attended that life changing seminar and had the opportunity recently to return two years later to B.C. for a second seminar with the renowned painter.

Dodge Galapagos Exhibition Marks the One Year Anniversary of AFC Flag Expedition #10.
October marks a career milestone for Canadian Artist Kelly Dodge. A solo exhibition of paintings inspired by Kelly's Artists for Conservation Flag Expedition to Galapagos in the fall of 2009, was unveiled for the first time, in it’s entirety, at The Lindsay Gallery, the only public gallery in the City of Kawartha Lakes. This celebration marks the one year anniversary of Kelly's 'forty days and forty nights' on the extraordinary islands. Visitors were the first to have the opportunity to see this major exhibition of over 20 originals inspired by Kelly’s AFC Flag Expedition to one of the world’s last true wilderness environments.

Dodge wins Artists for Conservation Flag Expedition Fellowship
July 30, 2009 — The Artists for Conservation Foundation (AFC), is pleased to announce its tenth fellowship involving a grant of $5,000 US, under the AFC Flag Expeditions Program, awarded to wildlife artist Kelly Dodge of Lakefield, Ontario, Canada. The objective of the AFC’s Flag Expeditions Program is to make possible the artistic field study and rendering of endangered species or habitats deserving of greater public attention, particularly in remote parts of the world.

Record Breaking Attendance at Dodge exhibit.
A solo feature exhibition and sale of paintings by internationally recognized artist - Kelly Dodge, My Backyard and Beyond opened Friday, July 3rd at the Gallery on the Lake in Buckhorn, Ontario. Attendees flocked to be the first to view the unveiling of Dodge's new work at the opening reception preview. All previous attendance records were broken with more than 200 attending the event. Dodge introduced new original pastel paintings inspired by expeditions to the Himalayas of Northern India, Kenya, Galapagos and her own backyard here at home in the Kawarthas.

Kelly Dodge is honoured to be the recipient of the Artists for Conservation Foundations monthly conservation award. The AFC's Conservation Artist Award is awarded monthly to honour an AFC member for outstanding artistic talent and extraordinary contribution to the conservation cause. At the end of each year, a past recipient of the monthly honour then has the opportunity to be considered for the annual Simon Combes Conservation Award.

This past June 2005 saw WNAG members, Canadian artists and Society of Animal Artists signature members Kelly Dodge and Patricia Pepin (centre) exploring Kenya with family and friends. Pictured here at Lake Nakuru National Park, their adventures also took them on safari to the Samburu Game Reserve, the Aberdares National Park and the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Thanks go to fellow artist and travelling companion Larry Seymour from South Carolina for organizing the trip and for extending the invitation while exhibiting at the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition last year.
