Teaching Conservation One Feather at a Time
I love to share my book "Through Endangered Eyes," with children. When I visit schools and read my book, the room becomes focused, even when the kids are only four. It is powerful to listen to children's concern for the earth and its animals, and gives me hope that perhaps things will change.
Children's book on Endangered Species released
It took six years and twenty-four paintings before the 64 page children's book "Through Endangered Eyes – a poetic journey into the wild," existed. There is so much to appreciate when passion and creativity meet. Each of the 21 endangered species is paired with a poem; and each poem has interesting facts woven in about the animal. In the back of the book, there is factual information to answer the questions a child might have about the animals. To wrap up, there are ideas for activities both parents and teachers can do to help children to recognize the problems endangered species face.
