Conflicting Interests
To me this piece is about protection of life and the irony of survival. A mother dolphin protects her young from a mother octopus who is protecting her young, tucked behind a coral structure resembling a human hand. This piece won first place in sculpture and scrimshaw at the 33rd annual Miniature Art Society of Florida International art show and competition.
