Workshop entitled 'Techniques for Nature Painting'
'Techniques for Nature Painting' 28th March 2011, Leh.

Observation is critical for nature painting, and during this workshop, Maya Ramaswamy introduced some new ways of looking at natural forms so as to be able to draw them accurately. Brush techniques and pencil work were also demonstrated during this half day event with 30 young participants from various schools in Leh, Ladakh, Jammu Kashmir State, India. This event was organized by Nature Conservation Foundation, India.


Language Editions of 'Nono the Snow Leopard' released in New Delhi
Hindi, Kannada, Marathi and Gujarati are four Indian languages. 'Nono, the Snow Leopard' was released in these four languages in New Delhi last month by Pratham Books, India. Walk the Grasslands with Takuri- book for children
Katha and WWF-India jointly released this cheerful book on grasslands for children above 8 years of age, on 22nd April 2010 at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. Fully illustrated by Maya Ramaswamy, 'Walk the Grasslands with Takuri' is written by Nandita Hazarika and Nima Manjrekar.


Annamalai Nature Information Centre
Maya Ramaswamy was commissioned by Nature Conservation Foundation (www.ncf-india.org) to liven up the walls and interiors of the Wildlife Information Centre at Valparai, in the Anamalai hills of Tamilnadu, India.

A Large Dam project threatens to inundate several precious hectares of rainforest in the southern state of Kerala, India.
The Salim Ali Foundation based in Coimbatore, TN, India, has created a range of tshirts with artwork by Maya Ramaswamy, to start off various conservation awareness-building activities.


Children's Fiction -Illustrated Book Released
An illustrated story titled - 'Nono, the Snow Leopard' written by Pranav Trivedi, and illustrated by Maya Ramaswamy; published by Nature Conservation Foundation(NCF), was released on the 21st March, 2007 at the NCF annual Seminar held at Mysore, Karnataka State, India.
