Alison Nicholls Returns from Tanzanian Conservation Project
Alison Nicholls recently returned from a 2 week stay with the African People & Wildlife Fund (APW) conservation project, based near Tarangire National Park in the Maasai Steppe, northern Tanzania. She will visit again in early 2012 to learn about the complex human-wildlife conflict issues in the area.


Explorers Club Seminar
Alison Nicholls has been invited to give a Members Seminar, titled "Expedition Journals and Sketchbooks", at the Explorers Club in New York City.


Lecture at Wolf Conservation Center New York
Alison Nicholls will speak at the Wolf Conservation Center in South Salem, New York. The lecture will cover Alison's Artists For Conservation Flag Expedition during which she spent 6 weeks at the Painted Dog Conservation project in Zimbabwe, tracking and sketching highly endangered African
Wild Dogs. Alison will also contrast finding and sketching the Painted Dogs, with finding and sketching
wolves during her recent trip to Yellowstone National Park.


Watercolor sale benefits Painted Dog Conservation project
Alison Nicholls' painting "Ensnared" was inspired by her 2007 Flag Expedition to the Painted Dog Conservation project in Zimbabwe and, in particular, the time she spent with the PDC Anti-Poaching Unit. The painting recently sold and resulted in a donation of nearly US$1000 to the Painted Dog Conservation project.


54th National Fall Open
Alison Nicholls' painting "Darkness" has been juried into the 54th National Fall Open at the Southern Vermont Arts Center in Manchester, Vermont. Exhibit dates are Oct 1- Nov 14.


Explorers Club Lecture
Alison Nicholls and Gregory Rasmussen (Director of the Painted Dog Conservation project) have been invited to speak at The Explorers Club in New York City.


Flag Expedition Video on Animal Planet
A video clip taken by Alison Nicholls during her AFC Flag Expedition will be featured on the US Animal Planet series "Untamed & Uncut" on Sept 1st at 1pm.



From March to July 2008 Alison Nicholls exhibited work resulting from her recent Flag Expedition to Zimbabwe.


Southeastern Wildlife Exposition
I am delighted to announce that I will be exhibiting my watercolors at SEWE 2008 in Charleston, South Carolina. This is the largest wildlife art and nature festival in the US and annually attracts over 35 000 visitors.


Salmagundi Club Membership
In June Alison Nicholls was accepted as an Artist Member of the Salmagundi Club, located on Fifth Avenue in New York City.

Alison Nicholls was featured in the March/April 2007 issue.


WNAG Flag Expedition Fellowship Grant (Feb 2007)
Alison Nicholls is awarded a WNAG fellowship grant to conduct the fifth WNAG Flag Expedition. The expedition will be titled "Painting the Painted Dogs - Artistic Study of an Endangered Hunter". Alison will travel to Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe for 6 weeks to sketch and paint African Wild Dogs.
