  • The Great Sheffield Art Show
This is another event in which the artist is one of the main organisers. A mixed amateur and professional show, this is held annually in July in the Octagon building at Sheffield University and is well known for a great standard of work, a friendly atmosphere and excellent sales. For more information, email the contact address on the website.
  • Wild About Art
Artist's own website. The annual exhibition, Wild About Art ran for 8 years in which Irene Nixon (the founder) and Anne Barron raised up to 20,000 for various wildlife charities including the Global Tiger Patrol, Dian Fossey Mountain Gorilla Foundation, David Shepherd Foundation, Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and others. The exhibition was finally wound up when Irene Nixon had to withdraw due to other commitments.
This is the website of the Sheffield Botanical Garden, home of Art In The Gardens, one of several major art exhibitions organised in Sheffield by Anne Barron working with various teams of colleagues and volunteers. Art In The Gardens is an outdoor event (mostly) with open art, photography and botanical art exhibitions under marquee. Individual gazebos are available for professional artists and craftsmen and there are premier sites by invitation only. This is a weekend event held in the first week of September every year and attracts up to 20,000 visitors - going from strength to strength after its third year. For application forms the contact details are on the website.
