Expedition to the Galapagos Islands
Date: Friday, January 28, 2011 to Monday, February 7, 2011 Location: Artwork inspired from this expedition will be for sale when completed and a percentage of the profits form sales will benefit continuing conservation efforts on the Galapagos Islands. Details to be announced.
Details: Mary Louise Holt will visit the same four Islands as Charles Darwin visited in 1835. What he discovered on these islands provided the enlightenment and inspiration necessary to create his groundbreaking book THE ORIGIN OF SPECIES. Walking in Darwin's footsteps Mary Louise plans to create original oil paintings depicting Darwin on the archipelago interacting with the unique plants and wildlife that he studied and collected.

Mohican Wildlife Weekend

Details: Mary Louise Holt will be one of nine Masterworks for Nature Artists featured in the Mohican Wildlife Weekend event to raise awareness and funding for the Ohio Bird Sanctuary in Mansfield, Ohio. On Saturday evening at 5:30 there will be a sneak preview of artworks for collectors followed by a silent auction sale of the art. There will also be a "quick finish event." The guests will have the opportunity to watch the artists complete paintings during the event. All "quick finish" artwork will then be part of a live auction immediately following their completion.
On Saturday, April 30, at 1:00 pm Mary Louise will be giving a powerpoint presentation on "The Great Ohio Wilderness and its Native people" featuring images of artwork she has created depicting the wildlife, landscape and Native Americans as they existed before European settlement. Location: Mohican Outdoor School.

Summmer Outside the City

Details: New, recently completed paintings by Mary Louise Holt will be featured in this exhibit. Artwork is inspired by the natural beauty found at Greenacres during the summer months. Landscapes, wildlife, botanicals and scenes from the beautiful greenacres sustainable farm are all examples of what the art enthusiast may find at this exhibit. Seven other artists from Masterworks for Nature will also be featured in this show as well as guest artist Mark Kelso.
