3-day Intensive Workshop -- Painting Wildlife in Acrylics
Date: Friday, October 07, 2011 to Sunday, October 09, 2011
Location: New Oxford PA
Details: $375

Come to beautiful Central Pennsylvania for a wildlife painting workshop with award-winning artist Sandra Blair. Learn how to paint realistic wildlife including life-like eyes and different fur textures through instructor demos and hands-on participation. Discussions will include composition and design, correct anatomy, seasonal considerations and environment. If you like, bring along a current painting or digital images for individual critique or helpful suggestions to problems. We will be using Golden Fluid and Golden Heavy-body Acrylics and working from Sandra's wildlife photo references. A supply list will be sent to you or supplies can be provided for an additional fee of $40.00. Workshop participants will also receive a CD of 10 of Sandra's royalty-free wildlife reference photos.

This workshop is limited to 4 students so you will receive plenty of one-on-one instruction. The workshop will be held in Sandra's home studio in a peaceful country setting just 17 miles from historic Gettysburg PA. Hours are from 9:00am to 4:30pm each day with a break for lunch. Sit on the deck and enjoy beautiful views of Conewago Creek, home to various ducks, osprey and great blue herons (after we do some work!). Watch songbirds and hummingbirds at the deck feeders. The workshop fee includes 3 lunches and 3 dinners prepared by Sandra's husband Brent, an excellent cook and baker. One evening can be spent on your own or go out to dinner with the group. A food questionnaire will be sent to each participant. Warning to those with animal allergies: there are cats and dogs in the home.

A deposit of $200 is due at time of registration, payable through PayPal, with the balance due October 7. We suggest flying into Baltimore BWI airport. If you prefer to not rent a car, airport and hotel transportation is also available for an additional $75.00. There is plenty of lodging to choose from in the Gettysburg/New Oxford area and a list of suggestions will be provided.
