The Art of Conservation 2008, An International Exhibit of Nature in Art
Date: Monday, September 29, 2008 to Thursday, April 30, 2009 Location: The Hiram Blauvelt Art Museum, Oradell, NJ.
Details: A juried exhibit featuring selected works of AFC (Artists for Conservation) members worldwide. AFC celebrates artistic excellence in the depiction of nature, raises awareness of conservation issues and directly supports organizations dedicated to addressing them. The exhibition will be hosted by the Hiram Blauvelt Art Museum -- one of the world's leading museums for nature and wildlife art. The museum is situated only a half and hour from New York City.

Nature Themed Fine art Show and Sale
Date: Sunday, November 15, 2009 Location: Perinton Community Center. 1350 Turk hill rd. Perinton NY
Details: A nature-themed fine art show and sale, featuring live owls, will be presented 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15 at the Perinton Community Center, 1350 Turk Hill Road.
The owls will be shown from 2 to 3 p.m. by Ron Walker of Friends with Feathers.
The event also features the exhibit and sale of art works of local area birds, wildlife and landscape artists in a variety of artistic forms and media including acrylic, pastel, pyrography, wood and glass. Participating artists include Suzanne Aylward, Gloria Betlem, Raymond J. Easton, Marie F. Heerkens, Jamie Marsden and Robin Salsbury.
The cost is $5 per person. The fee will be credited toward any art purchased at the show. Pre-registration is not required, but highly encouraged to ensure a seat for the live owls presentation and may be done online at www.perinton.org or by calling the Perinton Recreation and Parks Department at 223-5050.
