Trip to Gabon (in study)
Date: Friday, June 29, 2007 to Monday, June 30, 2008
Location: Created in 1993, the Nouabalé-Ndoki National Park (NNNP), is situated in the north of the Republic of Congo and covers an area of 4200km˛ of intact lowland forest. Together with Lobéké N.P. (Cameroon), and Dzanga-Ndoki N.P. (CAR), the NNNP makes up part of a tri-national complex of protected areas. In all of Central Africa, this zone is among the most important for large mammals, notably elephants, gorillas, chimpanzees, buffalos and bongos and many other endangered mammals. It also boasts over 300 bird species and 1,000 plant and tree species, including a rich diversity of old growth endangered mahoganies. The national park is protected by a cadre of ‘eco-guards', who operate under the direct supervision of staff from the Ministry of Forestry Economy and the Environment (MFEE), and who ensure that the protected area remains free of illegal human activities such as poaching. The Park and its peripheral zone is managed by the Congolese Government with support from the Wildlife Conservation Society.
Details: A special trip is being organized to Gabon within an expedition to film flora and fauna of several parks. My inclusion in this trip will help me to close by study faunistic peculiarities of the place. As you can imagine I am very excited on that!!

• 20-30 paintings in medium-large formats will be done to the future exhibitions. I am already in contact with some Foundations. A field study journal will be also made and finally a variety of analogic and digital photographs will be taken and ready to be exhibited in a show if possible.
