Daniela Hartl-Heisan AFC Owls, Wildlife and Nature in Oil, Watercolor & Graphite
Step 1 . Graphite Drawing Owl I started a new Owl Graphite Drawing. It will take up to several weeks to finish this artwork. Check back to see the Drawing come to life, or sign my mailinglist to be informed about new steps at the Creative Process. At step 1 you can see one eye of the owl. At animal portraits I always start with the eyes, and everything around the eyes comes later ...
Step 2 At step 2 you can see the beginning of the second eye.
Step 3 Slowly the outline of the head and a little bit of the background can be seen.
Step 4 I worked down on the left side of the owl and added some more of the background and also a title formed slowly - because of the look in her eyes it will be 'no trespassing'.
Step 5 Now you can see the full size of the Owl and more of the background. There's also the beginning of the branch she sits on and the claws of her right foot.
Step 6 I worked my way over Owls belly.
Step 7 Here you can see the complete form of her head, and I added some more background. Also the outline of the drawing forms slowly.
Step 8 With drawing the feathers over her belly, Owls body is nearly completed.
Final Step 9 I closed the background and finished the branch she sits on. I finally titled, signed and dated the artwork, which are my last touches at an artwork.
And here it is:
'no trespassing'
