Born in Michigan, Patti Jacquemain grew up on a ranch in California, where she developed a passion for the natural world and its cycles of change and renewal. After high school, she attended the Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles on a scholarship, then earned a bachelor's degree in painting and a master's degree in printmaking from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Patti is an artist, naturalist, and founder of the Wildling Art Museum in Los Olivos (near Santa Barbara), California. Her passion is wilderness and wildlife of America. Although her home is in Santa Barbara, she and her husband spend a part of every season at their place on the Swan River near Bigfork, Montana. Patti is known for her original woodcut prints and for her complex mosaics using Italian glass.
As a printmaker, Patti has had over 30 one person gallery exhibitions across the US, been a part of many group shows and has had three books published. Her woodcut images have been published by UNICEF, Sierra Club, Pomegranate Press, and Mission Creek Studios as greeting cards and calendars. As a Mosaicist, she has done commissions that are installed in several Santa Barbara institutions and private homes. She is currently under contract by Santa Barbara's Cottage Hospital to create three large mosaic murals for their new wing.
