An accomplished divemaster, Karen is a regular off the shores of Palm Beach and the Caribbean. She has studied art and photography at the University of Minnesota, Florida International University and with various private artists. Her move into professional underwater photography was prompted by accolades she received after displaying and selling photos from professional offices in her area. Karen's use of masterful composition, blending of vibrant colors and unique subject matter has garnered her awards from local galleries and national publications.
Making her move into digital, underwater photography, Karen's emphasis has shifted to the use of ambient light and color correction to intensify the impact of her work. The results are stunning, digital images that compliment her earlier works in film and slides.
Karen's newest artwork reflects her interest in shapes, shadows and highlights. "Kseapix" captures nature creating its own abstractions. Now available in limited editions, Kseapix will soon become the forerunner in underwater digital imagery.
Most recently Karen has been published in Jupiter Magazine and Florida Fish and Wildlife. Nine of her photos are now proudly displayed at the Howard Johnson's Patio Bar and Grill in Deerfield Beach, FL.
A native of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Karen has been a Floridian since 1970. She now lives in Riviera Beach, FL with her blue and gold macaw, Scottie and Bedlington Terrier Princess "Chewie" Chewbarka
