Dongguang Zhang

Zhang was born in Heilongjiang in 1957, and graduated from the Oil Painting Department of Heilongjiang Fine Arts Institute. He is a board member of the Association of China Artists. He is a member of the Association of Beijing oil painters and a member of the Association of China Great Wall Artists as well as a member of the Association of Chinese Environmental artists.
Art institutions like the Paris Chinese Cultural Art Museum of France, Indian Embassy Art Museum, Zhang Lichen Art Museum and many personal collectors have collected his works overseas. Mr. Zhang’s work has been exhibited in Canada, South Korea, Japan, Russia, Germany and in America in 2007 and 2012 at the UN in New York and in Salt Lake City, Utah.
At just 6 years old, his work was published and studied in China’s top children's Magazine--Little Friend. At 15 years old, he worked as an illustrator for Forest Pest Control Magazine.
In 2008, “Zhang Dongguang Wildlife Oil Painting Collection” was published. In 2010, “Elite Painter-Zhang Dongguang Art Collections” was published. Zhang’s work “Asia Elephant” was showed in Barbican Art Centre in London at 2012 London Olympic Art Exhibition. In 2015, Chinese Education Channel (CETV) Produced and aired a 120 minute documentary “Dreaming Forrest” about Zhang Dongguang’s art and life story. In 2016, he was again featured on CETV. In 2016, China Art Association published “Collection of Chinese Master of Arts ” featuring his work.
Zhang's work was also published and praised by major publications and press, such as "People's Daily", "Guangming Daily", "Famous Brand Daily", "Xin Tiandi" and "The Cultural Issue".
