Varda Breger’s works and poems deal with the conquering of nature by man, and the painful relations in human society.
The lack of balance between progress and nature, resulting from man’s failure to conserve and distribute the resources on the planet amongst its inhabitants, is manifested in the disappearing variety of life especially the extinction of wildlife.
Breger uses mixed media technique on paper in her paintings. Streams of dilute paint are caging blurred trampled animals, women, and birds.
Varda Breger was born in Israel, lives and works in Tel Aviv. She has displayed her works at more than twenty five solo exhibitions, and she participated in many more exhibitions and international symposiums in Israel and abroad.
She was invited and took part in international symposiums in Slovakia, Germany, Bulgaria, Italy, Finland, Austria and England.
2011,2012 second and first Leonardo prize for painting on paper in the International Biennales in Chianciano, Italy.
2012- my book Planet of life is launched.paintings and poems in Hebrew and English concerning wild life on the virge of extinction and wandering birds as a model for peace. I was invited to Izmir Biennale 2013 (Turkey) with a triptych of wandering birds, and won the second prize for painting. April 2015 I won the prize for promoting Peace through Art in the International Biennale in Kyoto ART QUAKE KYOTO 2015.
2017 INTERNATIONAL ART BIENNALE LONDON-SECOND PRIZE FOR WORKS ON PAPER.
Active in the young movement WOMEN WAGE PEACE.
Wandering birds
from north to south and back,
season after season
millions of miles
no fuel
no flag
no religion and
noborders.
