North American and Endangered Species

Although I first tried painting in England when I was 16, it was not until 1994 that I began to paint seriously. Inspired by Robert Bateman, I was immediately drawn to wildlife painting and especially to endangered North American animals. I work in acrylics, and have developed my style learning from Wildlife Masters, Terry Issac, David Kitler, Derek Wicks and Gail Adams.

I develop my paintings from my own photographs and enjoy travelling with my husband to find new subjects to paint. I spend time researching the animal and finding out its characteristics. Often I come across a unique trait that will inspire a painting, and then I go about obtaining all the specific reference I need to complete the piece.
