Wildlife of North America
John has spent his life studying art and biology. His employment history includes work on salmon in eastern Oregon, salamanders in western Oregon, Marbled Murrelets and sea lions on the Oregon coast and marine invertebrates in Oregon and Alaska. In the early 90's he decided to combine his primary interests and became a biological illustrator. After several years of doing freelance work he accepted the position of Sr. Biological Illustrator at the University of Michigan's Museum of Zoology in 1996. This position provided him with the opportunity to expand his skills in traditional and digital illustration. He also teaches art classes at the University of Michigan's School of Art and a summer course in biological illustration at University of Oregon. In his spare time John continues to work as a freelance illustrator and fine artist.

Support for Conservation:
10% of all proceeds from sales is donated to conservation organizations. John is most concerned with climate change and its impact on our environment. He tries to target his donations toward those groups that focus on this topic.
