Wildlife sculptor in burls and bristlecone pine; stone and bronze.

Victoria Parsons began her career as a wildlife artist in 1991, after spending the previous 20 years as an accomplished rider, instructor and owner of an equestrian center in Columbus, Ohio. Her passion for animals and wildlife art blossomed once she arrived in Denver in 1989.

Victoria's naturalistic style is enhanced by the use of unique materials. She uses 1500-year-old bristlecone pine, found in the Colorado mountains as high as 12,000 feet. She also utilizes burl woods from Carpathian elm, cherry and rose myrtle which yield one of a kind pieces due to shape, age and rarity.

Victoria studied under Jack Bayman for wood sculpture, and at the Art Students League of Denver in clay sculpture to be cast in bronze. Over the years she has developed a creative style that expresses her love of nature. Victoria has won numerous regional awards in Colorado. She was awarded first place at The 2000 Ward World Championship Competition in Ocean City, Maryland for interpretive sculpture with Aerial Pursuit. She has been juried into the 2004, 2005 and 2007 thru 2015 Sculpture in the Park Show; Loveland, Colorado and twice into the prestigious Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum's Birds In Art Exhibition; Wausau, Wisconsin for Life On the Edge (2004) and for her bronze, Nesting Pair (2006). In 2004, Victoria was selected as a signature member of the Society of Animal Artists(SAA) and her myrtle burl sculpture Sea Treasure was selected for the museum tour and once again she was juried into the 2006 museum tour opening with her bronze sculpture, Courtship. Victoria was again honored by SAA in 2007 as two of her sculptures, Springtime Slumber and The Chase were juried into the museum opening. In 2008, Victoria's "Art of the Ancients" one person exhibit was presented at The Wildlife Experience museum and her sculptures were selected by Brookgreen Gardens for the Flights of Fantasy Exhibit. Her bronze sculpture, Courtship was selected by the National Sculpture Society for the 2009 annual exhibitin and won the C. Percival Dietsch Prize for sculpture in the round. During 2005 she was accepted as a signature member into the Artists for Conservation Group (AFC) who make up a body of artists dedicated to the celebration and preservation of the natural world. Victoria is also an associate member of the National Sculpture Society (NSS).

As a diverse sculptor, Victoria sculpts in clay and casts in bronze using unique patinas to enhance each piece. Italian, Utah and Colorado alabasters also highlight a body of unique wildlife art intended to capture her subject's inner spirit. Her work can be found in galleries and private collections throughout the United States and around the world. Victoria welcomes commission piece opportunities upon request.
