Steven Lingham is an award winning self-taught artist born in Derby, England, but has spent the majority of his life living in Yorkshire.

Steven has a real passion for British birds, the subject matter for which he is most renowned. He has used a variety of painting media - acrylics, gouache and the occasional pencil drawing, but has finally settled upon oils, which allow him to attain vibrancy in colour and texture.

Steven's work has been selected for the 2010 Birds in Art exhibition, held at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, Wisconsin, USA. This exhibition is arguably the world's most prestigious wildlife art exhibition.

Steven is renowned for the meticulous attention to detail in his paintings. His works can be found in many private collections worldwide, including in the UK, Europe, South Africa, The United Arab Emirates & North America.

Steven is a signature member of The Artists for Conservation, and a member of the Marwell International Wildlife Art Society, both of which promote conservation of wildlife through art.

Support for Conservation:
In 2008 Steven was invited to become a patron of the UK based charity Raptor Rescue. Raptor Rescue has evolved into the UK's foremost organisation dedicated to ensuring all sick and injured Birds of Prey are cared for by suitably qualified people and wherever possible released back into the wild.

Steven also works with Turbary Woods in Lancashire, (a rehabilitation centre) who rehabilitate not just Birds of Prey, but any birds that may need rescuing.
By donating prints and advertising Turbary Woods through his website and exhibitions, Steven makes the public aware of the centre's existence.
